To the right of the farm lies the Shropshire Union Canal, the farm house and buildings are situated on high ground. To the left the land runs down to the river Weaver where a wide variety of wildlife can be observed throughout the year.

Here we see Brian milking the large herd of cattle, a three hour job, twice a day, morning and evening, seven days a week. On a hot day it becomes rather warm in that pit. A large tractor used for ploughing and other heavy jobs, four wheel drive is standard nowadays.

In the winter the cattle are housed in large sheds to the rear of the farmstead and do not go on to the fields. While the cows are being milked in the parlour the sheds are cleaned out at high speed by tractor mounted scrapers.
